Unlike a sectional garage door with panels which follow the contour of a track into the garage roof space. Roller garage doors occupy less garage space with the curtain wrapping onto a steel tubular barrel.

The barrel assembly is often concealed within a half or full box depending upon options to keep the barrel and curtain out of reach whilst also minimising draughts.

75 mm single skin traditional curved steel roller shutter curtain: More commonly found on Retail, Commercial and Industrial buildings, the single skin steel interlocking 75 mm curtain has a wide choice of applications from 1 m right up to 13 m in width, secure, pre-galvanised material with a choice of galvanised, Plastisol coating and Polyester Powder coated finishes also make this an ideal choice for a Garage Roller Shutter Door and over-sized garage doors and shutters. i95 Insulated Steel Curtain: Where Insulation is a must and the door opening is beyond the 5.5 m of a conventional Insulated Garage Door, we offer the i95 Insulated lath curtain. used on both domestic and commercial applications, the i95 can span 10 m openings. Using a CFC free injected insulated foam, sandwiched between 2 steel formed skins the curtain is available in a Galvanised, Plastisol Coated and Powder Coated finish. 77 mm Aluminium Insulated curtain: This style of curtain is the most common found on domestic garage roller doors. The natural choice where a smooth, quiet, insulated curtain is required along with a wide choice of colours and finishes. For added peace of mind, this popular style of door and curtain is offered with Auto-Lock curtain attachments, Built in Security Anti-Lift Alarm, Timed Courtesy Light, Somfy Remote Control and Motor, all at no additional cost.

Compact 55 mm Aluminium Insulated curtain: The 55 mm Insulated Lath was developed for garages where there is a limited amount of headroom, the 55 mm lath allows the curtain to wrap within a smaller enclosure and sometimes the ideal choice when replacing conventional one piece up and over canopy style doors.

The curtains run within a high security extruded dual chamber aluminium guide Channel which protects the door from lateral attack. With built in brush strips to minimise noise and draughts, also assists with a smooth, quiet and reliable door.

The dual chamber design protects the curtain from whichever method and type of fixing design is used from a face fitting arrangement to a reveal fit in timber, masonry or steel. 

The bottom rail is manufactured from a twin wall extruded aluminium profile incorporating a flexible rubber weather strip to seal out draughts and rain from entering the garage.

The soft rubber seal is also fitted with an intelligent safety edge system, sensors can detect an obstruction which in turn can automatically stop and retract a closing door along with assisting in sensing any forced lifting of the door.

The tubular steel barrel or ‘axle’ consists of three main components:

MOTOR: The barrel is fitted with a tubular motor of varying capacity depending upon size and weight of the door and is fitted within the tube assembly ensuring a compact, clean lined roller shutter arrangement.

The motor unit is fitted with a manual override gearbox to allow emergency operation via a hand crank handle during power failure. The hand crank device can be internal and external at both high and low levels with the option of a lockable feature.
