Routine door maintenance prolongs the operational life of the installation and ensures that the installation is kept in good working order.
It ensures that the door is working in a safe and efficient condition – helping to prevent accidents and damage which in turn results in down time, effecting work flow, productivity and resulting in loss of revenue.
Under current regulations, it is an Employers duty to protect it’s employees from injury by ensuring that all equipment (doors and shutters) are fit for purpose in good repair and subject to a monitored maintenance Program. Failure to keep doors properly maintained could invalidate warranties and could result in prosecution under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 Regulation 18 (2) (B).
